Well, i know we are supposed to be making the most of the winter by making weekend journeys to the mountain mecca to the west, but my mind will not stop thinking about the sunset ski. So many times last summer i would race north after work to try and catch any left over glimmers of sunlight to get a few turn on a glass lake.
Last night on a flight to edmonton, I flew right past my bay of choice. My mind wandered to the feeling of sliding off the back of the boat rope in hand. Sitting in the water and looking around i realize that i am the only guy on the water. One of those rare evenings when the weather is clear, no clouds, and the sun had just set over the horizon. And its just me and the boat. You can see people on the shore line, sitting on their boat house deck and you decide you are going to give them a show! The rope tenses up and you say HIT IT, and off you go.
It would have been one of those picture perfect sets.
Unfortunately, the only thing occupying the lake was snow machines and ice fishing huts.
Oh well... Its 7 above today, maybe that means the spring is going to make an early enterance but for some reason i doubt it.
